
(A unique & interesting way to consume healthy and nutritious Oats which help lower cholesterol & being rich in fiber, even help regulate digestion)
Ingredients for 1 serving:
3tbsp Oats
1cup/bowl of water
2tbsp plain or garlic &/or onion flavored tomato paste (NOT ketchup)
1/4 tsp each of salt, turmeric pwd, pepper pwd & dried parsley
sugar & paprika/ red-chilly pwd to taste
fresh chopped coriander &/or parsley leaves to garnish with
Cooking instructions:
You cook the oats in the water for about 3 minutes, then simmer and add the tomato paste, stir well and add the salt, pepper, turmeric and parsley. Simmer for 1 minute & then take off the flame. Throw in a pinch of paprika/ red-chilly pwd to spice it up a notch, along with 1/4 tsp sugar to give it that extra zing. Garnish with coriander &/or parsley and serve with croutons or khubz (Arabic bread) or pita bread.
