French Toast

(A breakfast dish of bread soaked in a sweet egg-based batter & shallow-fried)

Ingredients :
6 1/2"-thick bread slices
1 beaten egg
1 tsp cardamon pwd
1/4 tsp cinnamon pwd
4 tbsp butter
4tsp sugar
1.5 cups milk
1/4 tsp salt


Cooking Instructions:

Dissolve sugar in warm (not hot) milk. Beat all the ingredients (except the butter & bread) into the beaten egg. Add the sweet milk, whisking well. Heat some butter on a frying pan to medium heat. Soak a bread slice in the batter & place on the pan (repeat to fit pan), cook uncovered until gold-brown on each side. Serve with whipped cream, honey, chocolate or fruit sauces of your choice.
